Hotel Mascagni
C. Italy: Lazio: Rome
Situated directly across the street from the hotel historically known as the Grand Hotel, the Mascagni is a short walk from the Via Veneto and the Via Sistina (leading to the Spanish Steps). Since its opening in 1993, it has become a favorite of JDB clients because it represents an exceptional value in its category. The lobby at the entrance is small, but on the first floor there is a breakfast room and a cozy American bar where light meals are served. Adjoining the bar is a relaxing sitting room with a library and television. In 2005, the hotel began a complete renovation of all rooms redesigned by a leading Italian architect, using striking new wall coverings and upholstery that compliments the beautiful wood armoires. (JDB clients are always guaranteed the best rooms.) Amenities include satellite television, internet connection (for a small charge), mini-bars, in-room safes, and double pane glass in the windows making the rooms very quiet. Magnificent wood paneling and cabinetry is used throughout the hotel. Bathrooms have classic black and white tiles. There are connecting rooms for families. One of the greatest attributes of this charming, small hotel is the very attentive and experienced staff which takes a sincere interest in the well being of JDB guests. Continually, we see them go out of their way to be accommodating and helpful.
