Hotel Giglio

Conveniently located on Via Cavour and just a 15 minute walk to the Duomo, the hotel has recently been sold and undergone complete renovation over the past two years. It is JDB's least expensive hotel in Florence. But we want to caution that this is NOT for deluxe, semi-deluxe, or would be deluxe clients! There is a full flight of steps up to reception from the street, although there is also a small elevator. The first floor (equivalent to our second floor) has a bar, breakfast room (and also two staff members, Maria and Luca, formerly with the Albani, who are familiar with JDB guests), and an internet point. All rooms have in-room safe, satellite TV, and hair dryer. Staff is on duty around the clock. Perfect for families, the hotel offers two quad bedded rooms and three triple bedded rooms (not rollaways). Three rooms have bathtubs and the rest of the rooms have shower only. One double room on the top floor on the back of the hotel is private and quiet. The elevator does NOT go to this room! Be advised that this is a very simple hotel designed for clients on a budget. It has been nicely done and the owners are delightful and anxious to look after their guests. They own the restaurant Cinghiale Bianco, with excellent cuisine and a casual atmosphere in the heart of Florence.
