Most vehicles used for tours or transfers are Mercedes E-class, V-class & 16 seat minibuses. However, JDB Ground retains the right to substitute a different vehicle type if necessary. Tour itineraries are subject to change due to site closings, inclement weather, strikes or other unforeseen circumstances. JDB Ground reserves the right to substitute a venue or site during a tour in the event the scheduled site is not available. In rare instances it may be necessary to reschedule the starting time of the tour; in such situations, clients will be notified in advance. Entrance fees to museums and exhibits are not included in the rate unless indicated, nor are gratuities for drivers and guides. Unless otherwise indicated in the tour description, tours begin at either 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. and are available daily. Preference for either morning or afternoon tour must be indicated at the time of booking. The guide will meet clients at their hotel, unless another meeting point is designated in the itinerary. Clients staying in private apartments will be advised of the meeting point in their tour confirmation. Rates are subject to change. A Day in Siena and San Gimignano 8 Hours Your chauffer will pick you up at 9:00 a.m. at your hotel for the drive to Siena, often described as Tuscany's most beautiful hill town. There you will meet your expert guide for a tour that will highlight the major monuments of this historical city including the stunning the Piazza del Campo where the great horserace "the Palio" has been held every year since the dark ages. Next visit the Palazzo Pubblico and the intriguing cathedral complex that is home to a collection of the works of art by Michelangelo, Donatello, and Bernini. Say goodbye to your guide and drive through the Sienese hills to San Gimignano, called the "Manhattan" of Tuscany for it's 15 medieval towers. Stop for lunch in one of the local trattoria (to be paid separately), then stroll the streets of this charming town and enjoy the afternoon on your own. Make sure to see the Piazza della Cisterna and the Piazza del Duomo. If available, a stop at an olive mill to see how the Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made will be scheduled so that you can try some of this "liquid gold" for yourself.
