Richmond House
Ireland: County Waterford: Cappoquin
Richmond House is an 18th century Georgian style home that has been refurbished into a wonderful countryside Bed & Breakfast. Owned by the Deevy family for over 40 years, Richmond House provides luxurious accommodations, all of which are en-suite, and a superb five-diamond rated restaurant. All rooms feature period furniture, central heating, direct dial telephone, television, trouser press, tea making facilities and lovely views of the surrounding landscape. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients from select local producers and Paul Deevy himself prepares the cuisine that changes daily. A great selection of prix-fixed meals is available ranging between 45 and 50 euro. There are six golf courses within easy driving distance and the southern Waterford Coastline is one hour's drive. Outdoor activities in the area include pony trekking through the Knockmealdown and Comeragh Mountains and fishing in the Blackwater River Valley. A great place for shopping is the Waterford Crystal factory that is approximately 45 minutes away.
