Les Vergers de St. Paul
France: Cote D’Azur: St. Paul
Just 15 kilometers from Nice and 23 kilometers from Cannes, this small "Hôtel de Charme" is located in the hills at the entrance to the medieval town of St. Paul. In the past, the area around St. Paul was known as a haven for artists - Matisse, Chagall, Renoir, to name but a few, and many contemporary artists have galleries in the village. The famous Maeght Foundation is just a few hundred yards away and the Matisse Chapel is close by. Totally renovated in 2002, all rooms - 2 of which are suites that can accommodate a maximum family of four - are fully equipped with all amenities including air conditioning, satellite television, bathrobe and slippers, even heated towel racks (!), and all have a view of the swimming pool and garden. Bathrooms are very modern, with black marble vanities and white ceramic fixtures. Breakfast may be enjoyed in the breakfast room, by the pool (in warm weather) or in the room. The hotel is open year round and is an ideal base for touring the French Riviera. Antibes and St. Tropez, as well as Cannes, are easily accessible; Monaco is only 45 minutes by car, while Italy is approximately one hour by autoroute. There are several excellent restaurants in St. Paul with prices to suit every pocketbook. Hotel offers excellent value.
