Located in the Cinque Terre area above Levanto, La Sosta di Ottone III is the PERFECT place for the active traveler. This property is NOT recommended for those who are not fit or who travel with steamer trunks as luggage! It is also NOT recommended for anyone with impaired mobility. The property is reached via a footpath over which one's luggage must be carried. But the arrival here for hikers and other active travelers is well worth the effort. With only four accommodations, which can easily accommodate families, the property is the creation of a Canadian and her Italian husband (who also happens to be a wine expert!). Rates are inclusive of room only, but the charge for breakfast and dinner is modest. Each day, guests are advised of the choices for the evening meal and should advise of any dietary issues prior to arrival. Water is provided in the rooms on a complimentary basis daily. There is no TV or radio but there is broadband connection in each room. Other amenities include A/C, marble bathrooms, in-room safe and double glazed windows. Furniture is a combination of antiques and reproductions. The owners are very organized about suggestions for walks in the area and some eighteen small villages to visit. This is also a great place for children because once you reach La Sosta, it is an area free of cars.
