Located in the heart of Rome in one of the city's most prestigious neighborhoods, Hotel dei Consoli is just a stone's throw away from St. Peter's Square, the Sistine Chapel and the treasures of the Vatican. Housed inside a 19th century building, this hotel's elegant decoration makes it truly unique. The stuccowork bears the signature of the Neapolitan artists responsible for the décor of the Royal Palace of Caserta while the furniture is Empire style and interior fabrics and curtains are all in damask silk. Numerous Baroque-style paintings adorn the three floors of the hotel, each of which is characterized by a different theme: one floor features a Map of the World, another flowers and the last floor battles. A buffet-style breakfast is served in the Bramante Room, which is overlooked by an accurate reproduction of the dome of the church of S. Pietro in Montorio on Gianicolo hill.
